Our recent club meeting marked our first venture into using MS Teams at the Bowls Club venue—and we’re pleased to say it worked really well! This allowed us to welcome Jeanette Lendon of Jet Black Squares, who joined us remotely for an inspiring talk on smartphone photography.
Jeanette’s passion for mobile photography was infectious as she shared her insights on how smartphones can be powerful creative tools. With a background in commercial photography and a mission to make photography more accessible, she demonstrated how everyday devices can produce striking, professional-quality images.
Through her engaging presentation, Jeanette encouraged us to rethink the way we approach photography—focusing on composition, light, and storytelling rather than just equipment. Whether for travel, street photography, or creative projects, she proved that the best camera is truly the one you have with you.
Members were able to follow along with their own cameras whilst Jeanette advised on set ups and apps. There will be plenty of scope for members to showcase excellent smartphone imagery at our next member night.
